Here's WTM's take on signing Nomar, who might be the right idea, and Jacque Jones, who would be a terrible idea.
One encouraging sign with regard to Garciaparra is that after he returned from his injury last season, he played great, posting an 878 OPS after the All-Star break compared with a 405 OPS before. This gives me hope that he can return to something resembling his former level of production.
