Guess the pitcher

Name this pitcher....he was 8-15 last year with a 4.48 ERA. He threw 190 innings, allowed 205 hits, walked 57, and struck out 114 batters. He has a lifetime 81-73 record with a 4.52 Give up?

Star-divide

The above pitcher is not Kip Wells, but Brett Tomko, who just signed a two-year, $8.7 million deal.

Wells is more than four years younger than Tomko with similar yearly numbers. If Tomko can get $4.35 million per year, what on earth might Wells be able to break the bank for?

It will be very interesting, if not downright shocking, to see what Wells gets in arbitration.

arbitration
Nah, I think it'll be relatively straightforward. Wells will get a minor raise on the amount he received last year. There's precedent there and there just isn't any compelling evidence that would suggest he should get a big raise.

Wells money
I say he gets $3.5 million or more, which is a lot of ca-shing for a pitcher some felt should be non-tendered
