Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati, 7 April 2006

Maholm, Milton (MLB.com)

7:10, KDKA

Paul Maholm (3-1, 2.18) vs. Eric Milton (8-15, 6.47). I could tell you what Milton throws or what his tendencies are, but those things are far less important than the fact that he stinks. He stinks at home, he stinks on the road, he stinks against lefties, he stinks against righties. And so on. Again, here's another lefty who doesn't have dominating stuff, so this would be another great day to start Craig Wilson.

Box Score: No Wilsons in the starting lineup - Craig's not there, and neither is Jack. Nate McLouth, Ryan Doumit and Jose Hernandez will all start for the Bucs.

...And we're delayed.

Which, of course, means that he might pinch hit.

I'm liking the Tracy era less and less every day.

Sheesh
Hernandez starting over Jack and not Sanchez? My head hurts.

Hernandez
Historically, Hernandez does pound lefties.

Hernandez
However, if he ever starts against a righty...

Well
Ehh, it's just Tracy justifying playing one of his guys if that's why he's doing it (or was planning on doing it). Craig Wilson pounds lefties too, that didn't get him a start tonight. Sanchez had an OPS of .828 against lefties last year.

You're right.
You're right. It's not fair. I'm just pointing out that if Hernandez is going to get a start, and he probably should every so often, it should be in this sort of situation.
