Trade with St. Louis

I keep thinking that the Buccos can work out a trade with St. Louis. The Cardinals would probably be willing to take on the salary of Jack Wilson or Jason Bay and maybe we could get Chris Duncan as part of the deal. Duncan's left-handed power would be great for PNC Park and he has gotten a lot better at fielding.

Why?
Why would we want to trade Bay AND Wilson for a hitter that's not even as good as Bay?

Plus he's going to be 27 in May, not the kind of player we need to be adding.  We need to get younger, not stuck in neutral with a bunch of corner types who will be unlikely to get any better.

If we could get Duncan cheap, I'm all for it.  But if we move Bay we can do much better.  And there's absolutely no way I'd move Snell for any outfielder not named Delmon Young.

And what else would we get?
The Cardinals farm system is just as barren as ours is.

Not a judgement
Who has the best farm system?  I keep hearing how bad the farm systems are of MLB clubs (including ours) that I rarely hear about who has a good farm system.

I know for a while the Angels had a pretty impressive farm system with Brandon Wood, Howie Kendrick, Casey Kotchman, Kendry Morales and others.  I can't think of one team that really has an impressive minor league group of players...

Other good farm systems
The Yankees, Red Sox, D'Rays, and Dodgers come to mind.

Reds
The won-loss of the system is unremarkable. But they have a number of high-profile prospects who are nearly ready to contribute.  Jay Bruce, Homer Bailey, Joey Votto, Johnny Cueto, and (perhaps) Drew Stubbs could all be impact players.
Viva Clemente!

Mets?
Rumors continue that the Mets are willing to trade Lastings Milledge.  He's an arrogant ass, but still an incredible talent.  Should the Bucs consider trading Jason Bay to get Milledge?  Probably not a fair one-for-one trade for the Pirates, but we could probably get more.  I wouldn't mind seeing the 2009 version of the Pirates with a 24 year old Milledge in left and a 23 year old Andrew McCutchen in center...

What about the Dodgers?
There's plenty of talent there.  I have hard time seeing them get Cabrera.  We also know that Torree likes veterans.  Is there a deal to be had here?
