Steroids, who cares?

People take this whole steroids things too seriously.  They talk about the integrity of the game and how it's not fair to the legends of the game and the records.  I think there is something they're forgetting: baseball is entertainment, it's the equivalent of a circus, a movie, or pro wrestling (ok, maybe not pro wrestling because that's just simply degenerate).  My point being, despite my love for the game, it's still just a game.  I love seeing guys blast 500 ft homeruns and I even love it more when I see a pitcher hit the high nineties after pitching 7 innings, it's fun to watch.  If they want to sacrifice their bodies and the size of their testicles for my entertainment, that's fine with me, the joke is on them.  They're basically a freak show but just with multi-million dollar contracts.  And if young kids do steroids because pro baseball players are, those kids will hopefully be eliminated through natural selection because that's pathetic.  Ultimately though, I love baseball, I would sacrifice my left nut to see the Pirates win a world series, but I don't care who does steroids in baseball.

The problem with that
is that the steroids were being used illegally. Not against baseball rules, against the law.

Other than that, I have no argument. A guy I used to work with once said, "There ought to be a separate Olympics for steroids users," and if there were I have no doubt which one 99% of people would rather watch.

The same guy also said, "They should build separate highways for drunk drivers." I thought he was a genius.

Those two lines are hillarious!
We definitely know which Olympics they'd be watching.  This is the same reason NBC decided to bring American Gladiators back.

Olympics for steroids users,
I thought that was the Olympics...an honest competition between countries to see which one can produce the best performance enhancing drugs...

I really think in the big picture it all evens out.  Steriod pitchers and steriod hitters.  Let's be honest though, steriods have been out of style since the late 80's.  Undetectable HGH has been all the rage since then.  The Mitchell report is only 20 years too late.  I actually became brief friends with Steve Courson prior to his death (of course).  I remember him telling me about HGH in the 80's.  If any of us really think its all been pure until now (last 10 years) we are just kidding ourselves.  I'd like to think that if i wasn't afraid of needles even I could perhaps someday be a long man in AAA.  And for all of you who think it's only MLB that is effected.... yeah right,  a 300 pound 4.8 40 guy lives right down the street.
All televised sports are nothing more than the highest rated male soap operas in every major market.  But....I still enjoy the hell out of the Bucco's. I just wonder why I never really had the same fury for the WWF.  Which by the way the NFL is closeley mimicking.  Am I all alone in getting the feeling in my gut that I really can't watch the NFL anymore?  Oh well... at least there is always hockey!

The NFL
is a media circus. Just like fox blows up the MLB playoffs, it's just every week with the NFL. All the exposure both sports have focus less and less on the game every year. The game doesn't matter as much as what the player do on their days off. Hockey is the only sport where it's still mainly about the game itself....although Bettman would like to change that. At least a hockey game starts within 10 minutes of FSN going on air.

I tell people I like football fine, football's a great game. I don't like football players, I don't like football coaches, I don't like football broadcasters and I especially don't like football fans. They ALL act like they have 'roid rage. But I like football fine.

To put it seasonally: That's one thing bucdaddy hated, the noise Noise, NOISE, NOISE!!!

What?!!
You don't like football fans?!  Why not?!  What's not to like?!  Screw you bucdaddy!  You better hope we never see you in a bar because we'd KICK YOUR BASEBALL-LIKING ASS!

Baseball is a pasttime!  Football is a PASSION!  You could never be a football fan, your heart is two sizes too small!
