Pirates Sign Mike Thompson, Miguel Perez to Minor League Deals

The Bucs have signed pitcher Mike Thompson and catcher Miguel Perez to minor league deals (the article also reports the signing of Michel Hernandez, but we've known that for a while). Thompson, 27, a starting pitcher in the minors, posted good ERAs there until last year, but with such low strikeout rates that it's hard to imagine how he could have much success in the majors. He got rocked for both the Padres and AAA Portland in 2007. Perez, 24, hit well last year for the Reds' Class A+ affiliate in Sarasota, but he made the transition from prospect to organizational catcher a couple of years ago.

Perez
Perez still has some potential. Catchers are almost always "old" for their systems, and he hasn't ever shown any regression.

Cheer up, Mike Thompson!
Yes, the guy had not perfect performance in Major League Baseball (it's not in his good state). Though it is a mino-league contract, he could still play basball - a lucky thing. He still catch in our eyes. Never give up, I will wear 'I Love Mike Thompson T-shirt' I found online to watch games:

Though he is not a great player, he is a good example of devoted work ethic and responsibility to team. I am looking forward his performance. I believe he will become a talented player. Good luck, man!
