Bucs battled the Winners of the American League this afternoon and got some great pitching from Sean Burnett; Four and a third of 2-hit ball, none earned and three strike outs. Sharpless, Youman, Bayliss and Capps also pitched, but Capps was the only one to give up a run, and he did so during his work in the 9th.
Adam LaRoche hit is first homer of the spring, a leadoff shot in the second off 2006 AL Rookie of the Year Justin Verlander.
For the record, the Pirates' broadcasters really leave something to be desired. Bob Walk is the greatest, but John Wehner is killing me. Having the MLB.TV package, I often times am not able to listen to the Pittsburgh broadcast and have to listen to the one from their opponents. Then, like today, they actually have the Pirates' broadcast team and you realize how bad they are at play-by-play. Throughout the game I have no idea who's at bat, or even who is pitching. It's just terrible.
