Settling Third

I think Jim Tracy just made the best decision of his tenure - Jose Bautista will start at third for the Bucs.

Now we just have to hope the kid starts hitting like he should.  I'd take .270/.300/.450 at this point.  That should make Sanchez at second one of the team's few plus positions.

Bautista walks at a much better clip than this.

Last year his average was .235 but his OBP was .335.  Basically what I'm saying is that if Bautista gives us .270...we're looking at .350 OBP at least.

How Long is the Leash
I like Bautista, but he is prone to slumps. If he puts up a .190 over a couple of weeks, how long will Tracy leave him in the lineup.

he should give him the whole season
castillo got one under Tracy in '06

imo
with Bautista's OBP and semi-power(double and HR here and there but not consistent enough to bat middle of the order), I'd almost rather see him bat #2 than Jack Wilson.  Seems like his OBP will go to waste batting 6-7-8.

Definately
but only if he starts striking out less

....can't stop thinking about this
the thing that hurts the most is that the braves wanted to take Castillo off of our hands

you realize
that the Phillies offered us Ryan Howard on a couple of occasions for Oliver Perez or Kip Wells.  Whew, its a good thing we ddin't get fleeced on that one!
