Saturday's Action

Stay connected for news and updates

Sean Burnett was sent down yesterday after having an incredibly good spring, and it turns out he wasn't real happy about it.

"I'm furious, frustrated," Burnett said. "I threw the [stuffing] out of the ball and I thought maybe I had a chance, but it's a numbers thing right now."
Burnett tossed 11 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and no earned runs. The Bucs also sent down Shane Youman and Kevin Gryboski.

In case you missed it, the Bucs topped the Twinkies today, 13-7. Ian Snell got roughed up a little bit, allowing 4 earned runs in 5 innings of work, but still struck out 6. Brad Eldred, continuing his push to make the team out of camp was 3 for 4 with his 6th homerun of the spring, 3 batted in and a walk. Adam LaRoche also hit a homer in the game, his second of the spring.

Tomorrow the Bucs will try and stick it to the D-Rays at 1:05.
