Updating a few news items from the last couple of days, the Post-Gazette' Dejan Kovacevic is reporting that NL Batting Champ Freddy Sanchez is set to try game action tomorrow in a minor league test and Masumi Kuwata will be out at least a month with his sprained ankle.

The Bucs optioned Josh Sharpless, Michael Ryan and Einar Diaz to the minors today, taking the roster down to 32. There are 2 spots in the bullpen for 2 righties and the competition is between Jonah Bayless, Dan Kolb, Marty McCleary and John Wasdin.

On a more local note, I have to say it's great having Mr. Kovacevic back in the mix after his well deserved break. I may not always agree with him, but I will always appreciate and respect his reporting.
