Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati 4/7

Cincinnati #1 Aaron Harang vs. Pittsburgh #5 Tony Armas Jr.

Right now we're in the middle of the 4th and the Bucs have touched up Harangatang for 5 earned. Adam LaRoche has hit is first homer for the Bucs, a leadoff line drive to right center in the 4th.

Armas just walked Griffey after throwing 10 pitches to him, loading the bases with 1 out. nice...

Yep
Followed by a single by Encarnacion that drives in 2. No matter what the Pirates' offense does, Armas seems to let the Reds top it...

Fantasy lines
Adam Dunn is having a Dunn day.  1-1, HR, 2BB, 2R, 2RBI, SB.

OK, that's a highly unusual line because of the last part.

Dynamic Duo
Chacon replaces Armas on the hill. Gross.

Some Fella
Some Fella named Jon Coutlangus has replaced Harangatang after Cota singled in the 6th with 2 outs. He will face Nate McClouth.

Coutlangus
Has there a dirtier-sounding name in baseball since Rusty Kuntz retired?

Thanks for posting the thread, Bryan.

Dunn
Adam Dunn walked and stole second. AGAIN! So Cota is our backup catcher for defensive purposes, eh?

Cota
By my count, just following the box score, that's six stolen bases in six attempts today.  Yikes.

Close
Dunn and Freel each have a pair of steals and Encarnacion has one also. 5 for 5 against Cota today...

Just in case you can't see it on TV
I don't believe that Cota has even tried to throw any of the runners out, either.  Well, there was that one time that he jumped up to throw but the ball flew out of his hands.

The first few were probably Armas' fault for doing absolutely nothing to hold the runners, then throwing it in the dirt.

i cant imagine
that anyone else would even add Cota to their 25 man roster if we flat out cut him.  Funny we were going to keep either Cota or Ross 2 years ago, so we moved Ross and he hit 21 HR's...and Cota is sht shit of the earth.
Beat em Bucs!

may be right
You may be right, but somebody needs to tell Cota that you must actually catch the ball to have a chance to throw out a base stealer.

Awesome.
Bayliss walks Freel. Juan Perez replaces Bayliss and instead of letting Freel steal second, Perez throws a wild pitch with his first toss to Adam Dunn. That's Pirate Baseball!!!
