One day after bringing Marty McLeary into a game with a four-run lead and the bases loaded, the Pirates have demoted him. This proves... well, I'm not sure what it proves, although I remain pretty sure that after Matt Capps and Salomon Torres, Jim Tracy chooses relievers with the I Ching. The Pirates won't announce who will replace McLeary until Tuesday (maybe they need a meeting to sort out their rotation situation first), but I eagerly look forward to that player immediately being inserted into the eighth inning of a tie game with two men on. Or the fifth inning of a blowout. Or whatever. I'm sure Tracy isn't going to start letting mundane things like "wins" and "losses" interrupt his quest for Satori.
