Pittsburgh vs. Washington, 7 June 2007

1:05 PM, WPGB

Ian Snell (5-4, 2.94) vs. Matt Chico (3-4, 5.13). At least among this group, interest in the game will pale in comparison to interest in the first round of the draft, which is happening at pretty much the same time.

Here's the box. Rajai Davis leads off.

Ugh.
I'm blacked out of this one. I guess I'm in the Washington market.

Cox and Paulino
Please excuse my profanity, but that was fucking ridiculous on both ends.  You send the slowest man on Earth home from first base and then he doesn't even bother to slide.  This team doesn't care if it wins or loses.

Slash that...
That non-slide was ALL Ian Snell's fault.  No signal to Paulino...

Cox off the hook anyway?
Snell was up next, so if you think there's a chance Paulino can score, it's OK to send him.  If the throw is off at all, he would have.  It was actually good game awareness by Cox.

good point
You're absolutely right, you have to send him there with the pitcher coming to the plate.  I was just so irritated at that point.  The throw was off-line and Paulino would have been safe if he was given a signal by Snell to slide to the outside of the plate.
