PECOTA Projects the 2008 Season

It's subscriber-only, but you can see some highlights without subscribing. Anyway, this is definitely worth a look. PECOTA says:

-The Pirates will win 71 games and finish last.
-The Cardinals will be fighting to stay out of the cellar.
-The Mariners will finish dead last in the AL West (even with Erik Bedard).
-The Yankees will win the AL East.
-The Rays will have their first-ever winning season.
-The Rockies will finish fourth (!) in a tight NL West.

holy typos

PECOTA must be a powerful tool indeed if it "predicts [the Yankees will] slug .444 as a team in 2007." Less embarassing if they hadn't made the same mistake about 25 times on the page.
