good preview of the pirates below. predicts a .500 finish based on improvements in gorzellany, snell, maholm. and a resurgence of duke. offensively, predicts monster year out of laroche, which i tend to agree with. also good insight on bay. good read.

We all want to see signs of improvement from the Bucs, but I think the prediction here is way off base. For example, this gem about Matt Morris:

"Yea, he's not that good. But the benefits of the Morris fleece are that (A) maybe this is a sign that ownership is ready to spend coin; and (B) Morris should provide them with at least 30 starts."

Yeah, DL getting Morris at the end of last year demonstrates a willingness on ownership`s part to "spend coin."

A lot of his other statements leave a lot to be desired, too.

I do agree with him, and you, em3, that Adam LaRoche is going to have a big year.
