Steve Pearce hit 2 homers at AAA Indy last night
430 and 425 feet. The first one was a grand slam. I was at the game and I gotta say it was super exciting. That's the first time I've ever seen a grand slam in real life. They were also Pearce's first two homers of the season, and he's now OPSing .794.
John Van Benschoten pitched 5 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 3. His pitching is about the same as last season, which makes me think he still won't be able to cut it in the majors.

You just invented a new verb
The guys in the Pirates bullpen are telling each other “I hope I can avoid Derrick Lee tonight. He’s been totally OPSing lately.”
I didn't exactly invent it...
but I guess I’m on the cutting edge of its usage. Someday even the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball announcers will be saying OPSing instead of averaging :-P
Steven Pearce
Belongs on the big club. Bring him up, They need his bat.
Sure, bring him up...
...if he’s going to be starting in RF. Which he should be. Otherwise, he’s better off playing regularly.
