Worst GM Poll Update
Top seed Brian Sabean wins his match against the Reds' Wayne Krivsky by forfeit, since Krivsky was fired earlier this week. I've closed the other quarterfinal matchups. Ned Colletti has defeated J.P. Ricciardi, 188 to 99, and Ed Wade defeats Jim Hendry, 120 to 62.
So we'll start the semifinals on Sunday night. Here are the matchups:
Brian Sabean (1) vs. Bill Bavasi (4)
Ed Wade (2) vs. Ned Colletti (3)
It's about to get interesting - Sabean hasn't even had a match yet. The Sabean-Bavasi matchup should be a thriller.

Forfeit?
If a GM gets fired, shouldn’t he be the winner?

No. I think actually all of us are winners except Krivsky.
The winner of the contest has to be a current GM. :)

RE: Krivsky
Krivsky won in the “real” world.
Isn’t this just a fantasy?

Just like the ALCS and AFC Championship Game, Bavasi vs. Sabean is the real Final Showdown.

Kenji Johjima, 32 year old catcher on the decline, with 2 1/2 top tier catching pospects in the minors
just given an extension for 3/24
Bavasi is determined to win this thing.
...and now I'm here

Too late
It’s really kinda late for this sort of contest. There just aren’t any of the classic, awful GMs left. DL was the last of a breed. Imagine, in the same era, one team had both DL and Bonifay, while another had Herk Robinson and Allard Baird. Chuck LaMar is gone. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Agreed. There are still guys with pretty big blind spots, but this would’ve been a lot more hilarious ten years ago.
