Jurrjens is letting a lot of pitches hang up. We drove a couple deep in this inning. If we can just get a little more on the ball, I think we might be able to do a little damage.

see 91 and 90 on the gun…i guess that is good (for burnett). Doesn’t fit with NH’s power arms in the bullpen approach though.

how bizarre!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen* a victory, much less a shutout, as bizarre as that one. even after Laroche’s homer, the final line was 5 runs, 5 hits, and 4 errors for the Bucs. combined with Duke’s line of 6 IP, 5 H, 5 BB, and just 3 K, as well as Burnett’s “you mean I’m NOT supposed to let the other team on base?” start to the 9th inning, there’s no way I would have predicted the pirates were on the winning side.
