Bucs Dugout: An SB Nation Community

Brewers 4, Pirates 1

Tough game for the Pirates, who managed to rack up eleven hits, including two doubles and a homer, against a good pitcher (Ben Sheets) and still only score one run. Part of the problem was that they didn't walk, but the real issue was that the Bucs spread those eleven hits over eight different innings. On the pitching side, Ian Snell really wasn't bad, racking up six strikeouts in six innings, but he was foiled by a key defensive miscue by Adam LaRoche, Ryan Braun's triple on a good pitch, and a homer by Rickie Weeks. And lo and behold, the Bucs are tied for last, at least until Cincinnati's game finishes later tonight.
