Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Reds 9, Pirates MIA

It probably says quite a lot about some of the incredibly poor games the Bucs have played this season that tonight's drubbing doesn't obviously rank among one of the worst.

I just got home from work,

clicked on Yahoo to find out the score, my eyes came to rest on Franquelis Osoria`s picture as the Bucs` top batter, and I knew we were fu**ed.

Anyone for a rotation of

JVB
Osaria
Maholm
Dumatrait
Duke

Gorzo and Snell on the DL would be a welcome vacation for them

I'm still in favor

of just pitching the “starters” 4 or so innings, and then replacing them.
Not exactly a conventional approach, but given how often the starters implode in the 5th or 6th innings, it might be worth it.
Send a guy for 4, replace him with another guy for 3 or 4, and then a late reliever.
They might not get wins, but it might be good for the team.

Eh… it’s worth a shot. Not like this team is going anywhere like this anyways.

The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".

I say ...

Snell, Gorzo, Morgan, JVB and the 1st round draft pick to Toronto for Halladay. At least we could put our money on a chance to win every fifth day.

Halladay
Dumatrait
Osoria
Maholm
Duke – no send him to Toronto too.

We are going to have to struggle through plenty of bad starts no matter what,

but I would really support giving Gorzo some rest. Maybe he could throw every fifth day at Indianapolis on a restrictive pitch count. I don’t know how we would fill the hole in the rotation, but we really would have just as good of a shot at winning with Osoria, Burnett, JVB, Bullington, or whoever right now.

Gorzo could potentially benefit from getting some work in meaningless AAA games and a light workload.

I don't even think rest will help.

Unfortunately, you can’t rest your way out of TJ. Once it’s torn, it’s torn.

Thanks

I don’t know why I am so bad at internet research, but I looked for about fifteen minutes and couldn’t find anything this comprehensive.
