Soriano Out For 6 Weeks?
Not Pirates news, but the Cubs are in the NL Central (and in 1st place), so it's worth a mention.

Alfonso Soriano could miss up to six weeks with a broken left hand after the Chicago Cubs star was hit by a pitch Wednesday night against Atlanta.
Soriano was hit in the second inning by Jeff Bennett. The Chicago leadoff man will be in a splint for three weeks, Cubs spokesman Peter Chase said.
...
For a team that has not won the World Series since 1908, the injury was startlingly bad break. Soriano entered the game with a .284 average, a team-high 15 homers and 40 RBIs.
It's a big blow for the Cubs. And you have the Cards losing Albert Pujols for a while. Not sure how much it affects the teams (both teams won today), but it could open the NL Central up a bit more. Not that I'm implying anything...

I don't think we can take the division...
...but it might put them in on a trade for Bay/Nady.
I don’t love any of their chips, though.

rich hill might be a nice target from the cubs, assuming we think he can figure out his control

Guys with that big curve...
...always seem to lose control of it sooner or later, don’t they?

I think you misunderstood me.
I wasn’t saying that he’s lost it for good. Just that guys with a big 12/6 curve tend to have a lot more prolonged bouts of wildness than guys who use a slider instead. The more motion on your pitch, the less margin for error in your mechanics.

i see what you’re saying now and i agree. i think that makes it a good time to buy low as long as it’s command and not injury related.
