College World Series Final Game

The Pirates #5 Draft Pick, Justin Wilson will be the starting pitcher for the Fresno State Bulldogs in tonight's deciding game of the College World Series against the Georgia Bulldogs. Game coverage starts tonight at 7:00PM EDST.

Came across this article in the Omaha Paper in regards to the Pirates #2 Draft Pick, Tanner Scheppers. It talks about his injury, his rehab and what it will take for the Pirates to sign him if they want him after his August evaluation. If all is well with his shoulder, the Pirates are going to have to drop some $$$.

since the Pirates drafted Wilson and Scheppers,

I’ve been rooting for Fresno State in the CWS. But at the same time, that’s one more game’s worth of wear for Wilson’s arm. I really wish they’d establish rules in college baseball to limit pitch counts and appearances, to help prevent injuries like Scheppers’ rotator cuff tear.

When I read the pitch counts for

Scheppers last three games, all in the 130’s, I thought the same thing. Just imagine how many innings Scheppers would have pitched by now IF he wasn’t hurt. Probably another case similar to Brad Lincoln and his last year at the U of Houston.
