Astros 2, Pirates 0

Believe it or not, this was the first time the Bucs were shut out this season. There wasn't anything too noteworthy on the Pirates' end -- Raul Chavez threw out a couple of runners, Phil Dumatrait and Tyler Yates yet again gave up fewer runs than you'd expect based on their strikeout and walk numbers, and the Pirates only managed five hits, including four singles and a double by Jack Wilson.

By the way, this may not strike some of you as an especially bold prediction, but I'm going to go ahead and say that Yates will finish the year with an ERA of above six. (I'd be thrilled to be wrong, and if Yates is lights out the rest of the day, I'll say this post was a huge reverse-jinx and claim credit.) His strikeout and walk numbers are a disaster or Gorzelannyesque proportions, and he's not doing anything else that suggests his current 4.05 ERA  is anything but a mirage.
