I can't figure out this link thing, ugh...

..but anyway, Maholm batting 8th tonight.

Where are you seeing that?

The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".

by UtesFan89 on Jun 30, 2008 5:41 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Ah...

the Post-Gazette has it.

For the first time in 52 years, a Pirate pitcher will bat somewhere other than ninth.

I tried to link it but failed.......

It’s on the Pirates page on the PG website.

Yeah, saw it...

just the last place I looked. Went to MLB, Yahoo! & ESPN to see if they had the batting line-ups up very early…

Jeebus......

Nate a late scratch….Nate Sr. replaces him….......and Sucking Sanchez leads off…..I will now go beat my head against a brick wall.

Now it makes no sense

to have Maholm batting 8th. Just have Jack lead off. It would still leave you with…
SS Jack
2B FPF (first pitch Freddy)
CF Nate Sr
LF Bay
C Doumit
RF Nady
1B The Roach
3B Minky
P Maholm.

Not much difference…just means Jack gets 1 more at bat than with Russell’s lineup.

Must be

that changeup that DK says JVB has been throwing his last few games.

by Thunder on Jun 30, 2008 7:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

There are currently 87 players in the NL eligible for the batting title...

Of those 87, your leadoff hitter for the PBC tonight ranks 86th in OBP. That’s right. Getting on base.

He is also dead last in OPS in the league.

by Hitman Easler on Jun 30, 2008 7:01 PM EDT   0 recs

Lovely,

those of us with MLB.tv get to hear George Grande and Jeff Brantley.

um... he's not?

He’s been good this year…

That's not saying much.

Shawn Chacon & Sidney Ponson would be our aces if we had them…

Lots of pitchers

would be our ace if we had them.

by Thunder on Jun 30, 2008 7:18 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Some pitchers

could be our starting infielders (CC Sabathia anyone?) if we had them too.

Maybe not

pitch to Hairston next time? A double and a homer.

by Thunder on Jun 30, 2008 7:50 PM EDT   0 recs

They're horrible... but

their radio guy is pretty funny… he’s old and crochety, though I can’t remember his name..

.500 or bust...

by phillybucco on Jun 30, 2008 8:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I actually like him....

used to listen to him and the old lefthander way back when.

by Hitman Easler on Jun 30, 2008 8:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He's not afraid

to give the Reds hell on the air if they’re stinking up the joint. Needless to say, they’ve provided him with plenty of ammo this season. My brother board-ops a Reds affiliate in West Virginia, so he keeps me posted on what Marty bitches about.

Why

is Big Nate out? Injury?

by what_the_crap on Jun 30, 2008 8:21 PM EDT   0 recs

He tweaked his leg the other night

I think it was a hammy pull… probably just resting him up a little.

.500 or bust...

Cool ..

nothing serious. Thanks!

What's been printed in the media

is sore knees, from fouling balls off of them.

by Thunder on Jun 30, 2008 8:23 PM EDT   0 recs

Low pitch count for Maholm...

wish Ian would take note.
