looking at the description of that inning…looks like there was a lot of strange (bad?) baserunning. What happened?

by Thunder on Jul 1, 2008 8:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Doumit

ran a stop sign, and was clearly tagged out, but the ump called him safe when he got back to the bag. Then, LaRoche was running on a ball that could have squirted through for a hit… LaRoche’s mistake wasn’t necessarily a mistake… just didn’t work out the way he wanted.

give the Reds credit, but the once-able Pirates bullpen

is really sh!tting the bed of late. that’s two games in a row where the starting pitcher did well but will not win the game.

by humbucker on Jul 1, 2008 10:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Why the HELL did JR leave that bunt on?

Oh, right, because he’s an effing moron.

failed bunts, caught stealings.
Let’s just hit the ball and move the guys over. Please.

If

there was any lingering doubt….we will be NOWHERE NEAR .500 this season. Or next. We are not a good team. A sub-mediocre team, to be exact.

by PureTekulve on Jul 1, 2008 10:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

You understated it a bit.

sub-mediocre isn’t harsh enough.

I’m just hoping we can reach .500 sometime in the next 10 years.

And they are getting

shut out for both Indy and Altoona tonight.

by Thunder on Jul 1, 2008 10:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Which

is hilarious. We and the Rays go 1-2 in the draft EVERY YEAR. They not only lead their division, but even if they lost the their top 3 prospects they’d still have the deepest system in the majors….we just ALL AROUND suck.

by PureTekulve on Jul 1, 2008 10:16 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

We have three in Indy now....

....and I would just as soon see Bixler playing second rather than Suckchez.

by Hitman Easler on Jul 1, 2008 10:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Seriously

what would you rather see? The losers we send out NOW and win every 1 of 3 games? OR bring up whatever we have to bring and lose EVERY game, but get those guys some experience?

by PureTekulve on Jul 1, 2008 10:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

the problem is

we bring the guys up to get them experience every year and still lose the following year

by thielcats on Jul 1, 2008 10:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Don't you

figure they should get used to losing every season the way Jason Bay has? I mean, they’re Pirates. These guys were drafted to have losing CAREERS.

Hello, Cutch, Pearce, Bixler

and anyone else capable of playing…except Paulino.

Dusty

Bunting in the one situation where it makes sense. Bottom nine, nobody out, only need one run, crappy hitter at the plate.

by matskralc on Jul 1, 2008 10:12 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

they can bunt,

but screwed up the inning. remember, these guys arent that good either.

Extra innings would not be a good thing tonight.

All that’s left is TJ Beam in the bullpen. Unless we want to look for another starter in the next few days.

I'll volunteer

I can take one for the team here. The Reds won’t know what to do with my 65 MPH heat.
