looking at the description of that inning…looks like there was a lot of strange (bad?) baserunning. What happened?

by Thunder on Jul 1, 2008 8:55 PM EDT reply actions

Doumit

ran a stop sign, and was clearly tagged out, but the ump called him safe when he got back to the bag. Then, LaRoche was running on a ball that could have squirted through for a hit… LaRoche’s mistake wasn’t necessarily a mistake… just didn’t work out the way he wanted.

Dusty

Bunting in the one situation where it makes sense. Bottom nine, nobody out, only need one run, crappy hitter at the plate.

they can bunt,

but screwed up the inning. remember, these guys arent that good either.

that's

why (if we get lose tonight then get swept) WE are last in the WORST division in baseball.

I disagree

NL West is very crappy this year.

Quoting the great Scooby Doo...

ruh-roh

The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".

Extra innings would not be a good thing tonight.

All that’s left is TJ Beam in the bullpen. Unless we want to look for another starter in the next few days.

I'll volunteer

I can take one for the team here. The Reds won’t know what to do with my 65 MPH heat.

by matskralc on Jul 1, 2008 10:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Wow

Terrible job by My Boy, but what an incredible play by Jack there. Derek Jeter does that and it’s all over Sportscenter for the next 15 years.

by matskralc on Jul 1, 2008 10:37 PM EDT reply actions

Of course

Jeter would have to be ridiculously out of position before we could even consider it possible that he make the play…

by matskralc on Jul 1, 2008 10:39 PM EDT up reply actions

Not bad...

3 blown saves by the Pirates bullpen…in 2 games.

by Thunder on Jul 1, 2008 10:37 PM EDT reply actions

And

Chavez and 0 for 3vas on the bench.
