Huntington: Read Between the Lines! We're Rebuilding
Thanks to Bucdaddy for catching this:
"We don't have the depth to get to the next step with the group we have right now," general manager Neal Huntington said. "How do we get that depth? We either trade prospects to get major league-caliber depth or we trade major leaguers to get the prospect depth necessary to take the next step."
Unless that step leads off a cliff, I bet Huntington wants to take it.

Fine with me
I say we try to get some good prospects for Nady and let Andrew McCutchen get some major league experience.

It's obvious
we don’t have the prospects to deal for major league depth…so NH only has 1 choice.

Yeah
That’s the fallacy in Doumit’s argument. The Pirates are asking for two premium prospects for Nady. McCutchen would only bring a mediocre major league pitcher and the Pirates have no other premium prospects. And one pitcher isn’t going to do it. They could empty the system and all it’d bring back is a 4th starter and a couple Yates-type relievers.

Charlie, you've got some competition
The Post Gazette just launched a Pirates blog:

(This site and WHYGAS were mentioned/praised in an earlier post)

I don’t think of it that way. Dejan’s a great writer but he can’t possibly get away with saying some of the things Pat and I do. I’m glad to see it; it’ll probably help him get news items on the site in a more timely way.
