The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.

From Dejan's blog

Marino Salas was optioned back to Class AAA Indianapolis, and the reason Freddy Sanchez was held out of the lineup yesterday was minor knee pain.

Also from Dejan

Russell said Yoslan Herrera remains in line to start Thursday, “as of now.”

Time to make alternate plans for Thursday?

Barthmaier

is scheduled to start for Indy Thursday.

by Thunder on Jul 21, 2008 7:45 PM EDT up reply actions

They could

(if they wanted to) just give Tytanic a couple innings today and then call him up for Thursday.
Or Barthmaier.
Or, preferably, just go with 3 or 4 relievers in the game.
It couldn’t be much worse… unless the starting reliever is Wreck Specks.

Well, Tytanic

is done for the night, and it wasn’t pretty. 1.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 HR. 48 pitches, 29 for strikes. A screwed up pickoff (Pearce got the error) and 2 SB. I don’t think we see him for Thursday OR Saturday. Remember, he’s pitched 1 time before tonight since his spot start for the Pirates.

by Thunder on Jul 21, 2008 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

That won't work well

though we could throw out Herrera, Tytanic & JVB 3 straight days for “fun” to see which one can hold a common opponent to the lowest run total. Or maybe how many runs total are scored by the opposing team in the 3 game stretch.
You know… start a pool or something. Anything to make these blowouts a bit more fun. :)

Well,

we can’t bring Salas back until after the trade deadline unless someone gets hurt (gotta stay down 10 days).

And with

Dumatrait scheduled to get 2 or 3 rehab starts once he finally starts throwing, I’m guessing that we won’t see him before mid-August…if that soon. Gorzo has shown no signs of improvement at Indy.

Guess we need to pray for at least 2 days of heavy rain every 5 days.
