The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".
Pearce
glad to see he is back in the lineup.
I cringe every time I see Doumit in the lineup simply due to the defensive gaffes he will inevitably make. His bat obviously makes up for it but his poor defense seems to grate on me more and more throughout the season.
I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

Doumit
has got to play to get better.
by ElliottBayBucco on Aug 16, 2008 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions
He is no worse than the latter options
its not like the Pirates are chalked up with gold glove talent anywhere at any position
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
Doumit
I’d rather have him than Chavez or Paulino god-forbid. Doumit’s gaffes just grate me more than anyone else’s do.
I understand that he is young and has not started consistently yet and therefore is prone to make mistakes but that doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.

And we're off
Is there a rcord for most runs allowed by a team in the first inning?
Can’t wait for Gorzo, Mr. Wonderful and McCutchen to come up on 9/1
Nice start...

Opponents are hitting .308 against Duke
.320 against Snell. I will give you one guess where those two rank in the NL in opponent avg.
Wow!
you’re smart.

it was just a matter
of if JVB had enough innings to qualify for that stat

Duke used to be good
have great command and loads of confidence…then Tracy and the Idiot squad told him he could be better if he changed his approach and his delivery ……and we see how that went
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
maybe
some hypnotherapy could help him get it back
by northsidenotch on Aug 16, 2008 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions
maybe that would be good for all of us to forget the last 16 years of baseball
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
Making Pedro batting look like Tony Gwynn

what do you all think of Rasheed Mendenhal
sorry if i spelled that wrong
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
he'll be
a good option to ligten parker’s load a bit, especially coming off the injury.

I am down here in TX so I have watched Limas "Bean" Sweed often
he will be good but he is a head case…maybe the NFL can humble him

Props
to Black Hole. As bad as he was the first month and a half, he has been very good the last two months.

but no one notices
because he is only digging himself out of a pit of terrible stattery

House plays for the Astros chain
he is Round Rock..but he was down here in our town of Corpus Christi for a while….the boy smashes the ball…but there is no where for him to play in the field..his arm is shot so the put him at first but with berkman in Houston I doubt he will see time there
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
deffinitley
he won the Texas League Championship for the Hooks here in Corpus. Him and Hunter Pence…..who is having problems right now
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
i didn't even
know he was still playing
by northsidenotch on Aug 16, 2008 7:44 PM EDT up reply actions
really
maybe because of no more Lee.
He has so many surgeries on that arm who knows if he could get it into the infield.
they have played him everywhere though
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
house is going to catch though i read here
crazy but he is batting 303 and has 17 HRs
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(

He
just doesn’t look as comfortable at the plate to me.
by Hitman Easler on Aug 16, 2008 7:56 PM EDT up reply actions
Problem is that this crap is getting old.
Our pitchers seem to be great at getting a bunch of guys out in a row…AFTER they’ve already let the horse out of the barn with 3 or 4 runs.
I missed the start of the game.
IS THIS THE FIRST THAT BROWN HAS MENTIONED ALVAREZ?
he said
something in the pregame talks, but basically yes
by northsidenotch on Aug 16, 2008 8:09 PM EDT up reply actions
Hell bring him up now..
couldn’t do any worse. maybe he can pitch
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
66 pitches, 44 strikes...
NH…I think Gorzo is ready.
BTW...
I see that David Price is scheduled to pitch against Indy on Monday night.
Gorzo's perfecto is gone
Hit Mike Defelice with a pitch.
But next batter
hit into DP…so Gorzo at the minimum through 6 innings. 77 pitches 51 strikes.
lets hope
he can pitch to ML ballplayers now

22 of last 24 innings
have been zeros. The other two: 1 run each.
Jason
The Hanging Curve
actually make that 21 of 23
but it may go deeper than that…i’m just counting the reds 1-3 loss, mets 1-2 loss and today

2 for 3 at Altoona with a dinger. Shelby Ford has gone deep as well.

The Bucs
are just paying Philly back for last weekend. We Will…lose 4 to the Mets….take that Phillies! :)
Gorzo's no hitter
gone to the first batter in the 7th.
Holy smokes
before I left, I liked Moss a lot. Now it looks like he’s gone ice cold. What’s up with him?
Brian from Raise the Jolly Roger!
by Raise the Jolly Roger on Aug 16, 2008 8:46 PM EDT reply actions
Gorzo picked off
the base runner…so he’s still at the minimum through 7.
Wanna bet Indy loses??
Gorzo’s replacement was Mr. High Octane…Gasoline Osoria.
Article on Pirates.com tonight
basically saying that the kids (Luigi, Moss and Pearce) will be getting the lions share of the playing time the rest of the year. Quoted JR several times in the article. That would explain Pearce over Minky tonight even though Minky has great numbers against Pedro. Then again…ADD LaRoche was 1 for 17 against Pedro before tonight.
Jose Tabata
2-4 tonight single and a homerun Curve winning 2-1
I do believe
he’s pitching his way back to Indy…if he’s lucky.
If he's lucky?
Or if we’re lucky?
The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!

Bring up the yankee pitchers
send down Duke or at least bring up gorzo but Duke needs to go away
I am sick of Duke
The Tracy/Colborn excuse has run it’s course.
Outside of his first two months, he has been terrible.
by Hitman Easler on Aug 16, 2008 9:22 PM EDT up reply actions
More likely that Duke
would go to long relief…than to Indy. Send Romulo down. Then they will have to figure out who to ditch when Capps comes back…which will probably be next weekend.
Duke
needs to be sent down. Long relief? His career Opp. BA is .310. He needs to go somewhere and figure out how to get hitters out.
by Hitman Easler on Aug 16, 2008 9:33 PM EDT up reply actions
Point taken
But unlike Ollie…who I could clearly see had the stuff to succeed minus the mental makeup…it would not hurt my feelings if we lost Duke .
by Hitman Easler on Aug 16, 2008 9:41 PM EDT up reply actions
Jesse Chavez
wraps it up for Gorzo, 1-0. Cutch with 2 hits.
Wonder who yelled
“Watch out”. Catcher, pitcher or umpire?
We've got the
tying run to the plate and our best hitter up. Mets bullpen couldn’t possibly blow another one, could they?
was
doumits flyout deep?

Zach Duke stinks again-
6IP, 6ER.
He`s a Texas boy. Maybe he can find a job with the Rangers and Jim Colborn for 2009.
