Welp...
Interesting
Look forward to this game, I want to see how Moss and Andy do against Santana.
That being said I’m not optimistic at all.
I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

Get through the first inning
no runs today come on karstens
yes
Five points for victory:
1) don’t give up run(s) in first inning
2) get offense started early….preferably before the 7th innning
3) play tight defense…if we don’t have Doumit in, Chavez better catch damn well
4) string together hits instead of spreading them throughout the game
5) DONT’ GIVE UP RUNS IN THE FIRST INNING

KARSTENS
I’m excited to see how he does with Chavez behind the plate again those two were quite impressive during the arizona game
Wow! 15 strikes out of 19 pitches.
I admire his boldness, and wish some of our other guys would just throw the ball, too.
Welp...
Only problem is...
if you are seeing the TV feed…it was Lanny. And I know he said it on Nate’s AB in the first.
now
6 straight balls :(

The Jack
and now the boot by Andy…I think they just give up sometimes
10 Quality Starts in a row/Aug. 08 - BUT now we can't hit:(
Wouldn't be surprising
I give up on them sometimes top.
Like right now i’m wondering how Tabata’s doing today.

This
is one of the worst stretches of offense (if you can call it that) I can remember. We can’t do ANYTHING
Indy
is up 8-2 after 3. Bautista 2 for 2 with a HR and 4 RBI, playing RF.
if he's lucky.
Don’t know if his spike caught…or whether he actually hurt it on the swing.
looked
like he twisted it when he did his little jump to turn to start running. I would say it’s an ankle sprain, which would probably still land him on the 15 day DL

Well,
I think that ends any discussion whether Pearce will be playing. I don’t see Moss playing any time real soon.
so if he goes on the DL
who gets called up? Bautista?

someone
would have to designated for assignment then if that were to happen, which I don’t think is likely

More likely
Bautista to come back, or Morgan to come up. If we are going to see McCutchen…it will likely be Sept. 2nd or later. Finding someone to DFA isn’t much of an issue. Herrera, for instance.
Joey Bats
is a triple short of the cycle through 4 innings at Indy. Cutch and Walker have 2 hits apiece, Bixler has 3. Cutch2 out after 4.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 3 K. Indy up 11-5.
Altoona
scored 4 in the 9th to win 5-4

Hmmm...
RoPaul pulled from Indy’s game after the 5th inning (and he would have been leading off the bottom of the 6th). I wonder…if Doug becomes the 4th OF, he won’t be the emergency catcher as well.
first of those 2 innings
1 BB, 1 K, 13 pitches, 8 strikes.

Capps done after
1.2 IP, 3 BB, 1 K, 33 pitches, 19 strikes.
The problem with building towards the future
is that this team right now is a pain to follow… even on gameday.
I understand that it’s required, but sometimes… I don’t know.
It’d be nice to score a couple of runs and maybe win occasionally.
Curse you, DL!
The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".
It's not always terrible
but that 5 pitch 9th inning was just… sad. It’s like they just decided they were too tired to play anymore and wanted to go home.
Since Sunday's are kids days
that streak will help make good Pirates fans out of Pittsburgh’s youth.
