Looks like
a 2 run lineup to me. Only reason it’s not the normal sunday lineup is because Doumit missed last night instead of today.
If we get
@ offa CC, I’d be pleased.

yeah
hopefully Maholm has a gem in him this afternoon

If I wasn't
dirt broke, I’d have driven up for the game. I think that Maholm will battle him inning for inning.

They annoy me
Maholm is better this year because of his control….fewer walks? 44 walks in 168 IP this year is sooooo much better than last year’s 49 walks in 178 IP. What idiots.
Uh oh
Bases loaded, none out for Braun, Fielder, and Hart.
Whatever that 2nd pitch was to Braun
don’t throw it again.
Fastball way up and in
Above the letters, a foot inside. I have no idea how he got that much distance on it. Braun has insane power.
Damn,
I’m good

Moss Ks
nothing Mossome about that.
The Utah Jazz. The Jazz... duh.
The best NBA team in Utah... no doubts about it!
Playing For Pride. Pirates, Utes, Panthers, and more...
Because, in the end, only one team can "win it all".
And Gomez
a one-pitch dp.
F*ck.
What good is Gomez’s 4-12 against Sabathia if he’s not willing to see a 2nd pitch?

I think
he’s doing it on purpose, to make me drink more…

Ha
That strikeout of Fielder was awesome. Curveball in the dirt for swinging strike two, high fastball for swinging strike three.
Whoa, whoa, what's going on???
Russell actually showing a little emotion? Do I need to adjust my set? Am I seeing this correctly?
Hell has officially frozen over
JR has actually gotten tossed from a game.
wha hoppen?

LaRoche got tossed
for saying something about his strikeout in the top of the inning…and JR didn’t like the way it happened. Davidson is known for having a bit of a short fuse.
Why'd he get tossed?

Whoever has Bob Davidson
in the umpire fantasy league got 2 for the price of 1.
From what I can gather
LaRoche was called out on strikes to end the previous inning on a BS call. On his way back to the dugout after the bottom of the 5th, he says something to the ump and gets tossed. JR gets tossed for joining in.
Yeah ...
Strike Zone same width as CC

Ah, so that's how they decide the strike zone.
Time for the Buccos to go get Bartolo Colon.

C.C.
up to 96 pitches. But with the way the Brewers use him, that means he still has another 40 in him
Brewers don't care
CC is a rent-a-player. When his arm falls off next year it’ll be a problem for the Cubs or Yankees or Red Sox.

Gah, robbed of extra bases by Ryan Braun?
Apparently he’s much better in LF than 3B.
Freddy!
1-out triple. He must be really slow, though — I thought he could have a chance at an inside-the-parker, but he barely got to third.
not yet,
but it’ll do!

Brewers announcers are useless
So no information there.
Just so you Gamecasters know...
…Morgan overslid that bag and BARELY got his foot back before Hardy retagged him.
Frankly
I’m still not sure he got the foot back.
You know
the Pirates are damaging CC’s chances for the NL Cy Young. He was counting on an easy W today. Gotta get with the program, guys. Bob Davidson was on board.

Bautista looking good
Throwing strikes, making it look easy.
Nice of JR
to put Bautista right back in after y’day. Of course, if he’d gotten lit up, JR coulda blamed the bench coach. :)
I wanna see Mossome hit a ...
7-run homer.

Which one?
Moss just grounded one softly through the hole on the left side. Hall didn’t see it off the bat, and he might have had a play.

Nah
It looked like he hit it pretty hard, but it was pretty routine for Braun well short of the track.
THX.

Kendall gives it a ride to the track
Moss on it easily, as everyone’s playing deep.
Pretty much
everything at 92 except for the last one at 94.
there's someone

You seem surprised??
Pitcher fell asleep and Fielder thought the pitcher was covering.
Forgot about the Gamecasters
Cameron took off as though there were two outs, and got as far as rounding third. He managed to get back just in time to avoid being doubled off.
So...what's left...
Chavez on the bench…and Smiley Burnett and Jason Davis in the pen. I think.
If you're trying to inspire confidence
It’s not working!
Doumit on

Pitchout?
They know Doumit’s on first, right?
Looking for a hit & run probably
Because Dougie “handles the bat well”.
Two on, none out!
I wish we had a better lineup.
ARGHGHGH
Michaels is bunting. I hate this team.
Well, if the Pirates don't score here...
they will lose in the bottom of the inning.
Double play
is coming.
Hi all. Longtime lurker, first time commenter.

When
will our guys learn to lay off the outside 2 strike pitch?
by Never Seen A Winning Season on Aug 24, 2008 6:00 PM EDT reply actions
I can't believe we blew that
You have to think that’s the best chance we’ll have with this lineup.
They've left a
medium size village (not a small one) on the bases today. My only question is whether Weeks or Hardy takes Yates deep.
Anyone watching?
Was Moss’ fly ball not deep enough to score?

Not really

Moss' fly ball probably
wasn’t deep enough for Morgan to score.
Davis is on for the duration
unless we’re still here in the 20th inning.

There's a running thread on John Sickels' site ...
… comparing Maybin and McCutchen. It’s pretty interesting.
