Dejan says in a recent PG article

that Tom Gorzelanny is in better shape, too. Hopefully, he’ll rebound the way Paul Maholm did in 2008 after losing weight and improving his conditioning.

Could be worse.

I guess it’s encouraging that they were trying to help him work on his weakness this offseason, rather than pumping and dumping him. It means that as of right now, he’s still in their plans for the future. Just not the immediate future.

I wonder whether Dan Fox signed off on the idea of Monroe as a good fielder. From the numbers I’ve seen, he’s below average.
