Pirates' New Jersey

I know this isn't "big news" by any means, but the Pirates are unveiling new uniforms on Friday. I was a fan of the red, but apparently most weren't.

Clearly the new uniform won't be red or grey and since they already have two white ones it probably won't be white either. That leaves black or yellow from what I can see. But, I could be wrong.

Point of the post: What color do Pirate fans want the new jersey to be?

I had an early '90s alterante:

Black, with red and yellow highlights. Pretty good color scheme.

Be fun to do a Soviet-style alternate logo in those colors, something along the same stylistic lines as this one.

A year ago I would’ve thought that was unlikely, but I thought some of Barack Obama’s campaign posters looked Soviet, and that didn’t seem to cause any problems. I like the design you’ve linked, Vlad.

(Not trying to start a political flamewar here, by the way.)

I was kind of confused by the post title because afaik there’s only one New Jersey.

It would be sweet...

if they brought back the 70’s yellow uniforms.

We called those bananaforms, and they were hideous

I think we should be all black, head to foot, all the time, with a bit of gold — the P on the cap, the “Pirates” on the front, the name/number on the back. Look badass, BE badass.

Agreed, except Sundays

We’re Pirates! Pirates godammit! Summer Sundays should get a lighter color alt though. How about something new instead of retro?

That does sound badass

They have/had spring training, short-sleeve mesh shirts which were all black and I liked those a lot.

Wear Short Shorts...

and make every game Ladies Day.

That’ll pack them in.
