Who do you like in the World Series ?

Now that my least two favorite managers are out of the playoffs, LaRussa and LaTracy (No Pirate fan could live down Tracy going to the World Series two years removed from Pittsburgh ), who do you like for the World Series ?  I'd like to see Joe Torre and Manny Ramirez go to New York and sweep the Yankees.  I also wouldn't mind seeing an all Los Angles World Series with the Halos winning it all.

At this point...

…I probably lean toward the Phillies. It’s not a strong preference, though.

With the Cardinals and Jim Tracy gone, I don’t have a rooting interest at this point (or even an anti-rooting interest, as it was with those two teams).

Not trying

to be That Guy, but: Unless you live in L.A., why would it be awesome? To someone in Pittsburgh, why would it be any different than the Phillies and Angels? Same as, why would anybody outside New York care about a subway series? I can see why it would be a blast IN THAT CITY, but why would I need to care?

I do live in LA :)

but yeah it makes no difference unless you live in the LA/Anaheim area.

Freeway series

I don’t know if there is a big rivalry between Angels fans and Dodgers fans like I’m told by ESPN of the rivalry between White Sox fans and Cubs fans, but that would be a good series because both needs seem evenly matched. The Angels have an edge in pitching in my humble opinion.

I would like the Dodgers vs. the Yankees, if the Dodgers could sweep in four. Seeing how that won’t happen, I’ll go with Angels over the Phillies in seven games.

I don’t want an Angels-Dodgers series just because I don’t want to stay up late to watch those games.

I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

I want angels to win

but they have to get over yankees first.

This may make me unpopular but I’m a bit tired of the media sensationalisation of everything being dedicated to Adenhart. E.g. the big brouhaha over them celebrating with the jersey and champagne – IMO if it’s not done with intentional disrespect then who are the general public to judge how they celebrate?

(did I just make up a word back there? I’m pretty sure there aren’t any words with 2 -tion’s in them)

… sensationalisation …

If it were a word, I applaud your using what would be the “British” spelling of it.

indeed.

it’s also the Australian spelling. We haven’t had as much time to fiddle with the spelling as youse Americans have.

Maybe it’s because back in the 1400’s not so many people could write or spell and it branched out from there. But I’m no language historian.

I’m squarely in the Angels camp as well…certainly don’t want to see New York or Philadelphia win so my options are a bit limited.

KetchamBruce:

It seem you are “playing all the ‘Angels’?”

Heh.

I voted Phillies. I sorely despise all the other remaining teams, the Phillies less so.

Nice pun

Process of elimination.

Nothing can erase 40 years of Phillies hate.

Yankees suck.

Please, do we really need to see 800 shots/game of Torre in the dugout looking like Torre?

It’s really really hard to hate the Angels, so … Go, Angels. This one’s for Nick Adenhart.
