Fall League Updates

Thought I would make an ongoing thread that any and all information pertaining to the Bucs' performances in Fall League and thoughts as well as opinions regarding them.  I'm really interested in monitoring how some of our prospects perform in this developmental league, especially D'Arnaud and Tabata.  Hell, it would be even nicer to see some surprising performances by Moskos and Veal. Anyways, even if you don't have any statistical input, feel free to give opinions on any of the Bucs' prospects, even if they aren't playing in the AFL. Let's see some pop from Tabata!  Thanks guys.

Here's some news from the AFL

Tabata: 2/6 so far with a double and 2 walks (2 games played)
Friday: 2/8 so far with a CS (2 games played)
D’Arnaud: 1/5 so far with a CS (1 game played)

Veal: 2IP, no hits, no walks, 3Ks (1 game played)
Moskos: 1IP, no hits, 1 walk, 1K (1 game played)

Good idea for a thread by the way. We might as well keep this going as long as we can.

It’s obviously a way too small sample size, but nice to see Walker’s drawing any kind of walks.

Yep.

I think he’s had months where he didn’t draw four walks with us.

Jose Tabata

just went 2 for 5. One of those hits coming off Stephen Strasburg.

Definitely the best update so far...

Starling Marte came in the 8th to pinch run for the catcher.

He then stayed in the game to catch the 9th inning. In that inning, he picked off D’Angelo Jimenez at 1st base!

Actually…pretty sure that was a mistake in the box score. But if it happened…it would have been cool.

Coming to PNC Park in the near future-

Danny Moskos as a situational lefty in the bullpen. Man, I can’t wait! My guess is that he’ll make it into more big league games than Bullington and JVB combined, but not by many.

I hope Donald Veal will be a good pitcher for us down the road, but I doubt very seriously the control will ever be there.

Don't be so pessimistic

Veal will get it figured out and become a very good number 2 if not an ace for the bucs.

Wow,

That’s definately the opposite of pessimistic.

Moskos might take Capps’ job sooner than later!

and Veals stuff is pretty nasty, but I also don’t think he’ll ever find the plate consistantly enough. His stuff reminds me of Francisco Lirianos though!

Gorkys with another good night...

2-4 with a bb and a k, now hitting .350 with a .458 obp.
