This is it!

The Drive for 63 comes down to ONE GAME. Forget Minnesota-Detroit, it’s all on the line today, boys.

Homer Bailey may

actually prove to be a quality MLB pitcher. He has done decently the last month or so

In news around baseball

The Twins and the Tigers are both up 4-0 and seem to be headed towards a tiebreaker game Tuesday.

Let's Go Legend

How about a 3-run bomb right here from MVP?!?!

by Brakeman8 on Oct 4, 2009 2:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

OK, maybe a 2-run single from Lastings….

He's bee pitchig pretty well his lat 10 starts or so.

He’s finally looking like a major league pitching. Our offense is pretty pathetic but Bailey made some nice pitches to Laroche, Jones and Milledge there.

In other news, the Orioles are losing so the race for the 2nd pick in the draft is coming down to the wire.

If we lose we get it.

They will have the better record by benefit of having one more win than us (assuming we both lose). Coming in to today they were 63-98 and we were 62-98.

Cutch dove for a ball and missed...

and it ran all the way to the wall.

I guess JR wanted to “get Veal some work” today. We’ve gott 100 arms in the pen, and this is they guy he brings in to keep thegame close?

by Brakeman8 on Oct 4, 2009 3:01 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Don't worry...

he has Batista warming up in the pen!

by Slick1 on Oct 4, 2009 3:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

At this point, the team wants the 2nd pick.

by Adam Reynolds on Oct 4, 2009 3:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I want the pick too, but preferably with the Orioles winning instead of us stinking.

we NEED any sort of gap hit here

any rally continuation

I see I didn't miss much

Pearce finishes above the Mendoza line,

Walker finishes below the Mendoza line,

Veal flames out in his last ML appearance til at least 2011 (I can hope),

Cutch keeps up his October drive for ROY (KLaw said Cutch has his vote but he won’t win),

Andy ready to make the Scrap Iron move from 3B to 2B (hope Pedro is as valuable as Madlock was),

Delwyn Young’s offensive resurangence was a one day event

Pirates lose and the Orioles win.

I guess this means the Bucs get the 2nd overall pick in 2010?

by IAPiratesFan on Oct 4, 2009 4:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Can't say

I’m too upset about losing this one. Would have been nice to be a prettier game, but the second pick supersedes the W here.
