With Veterans Day coming up, this is a nice piece by ex-Buc Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner about his time as a Naval Aviator during WWII.

though topical and very well executed, a gilbert and sullivan reference on a baseball blog is a rare thing. the comparison does hold with our pirates if you say, replace their inability to defeat orphans with other baseball teams.
