Around SBN: The Worst Team Ever Projected?

"The 10 managers and umpires eligible for election consideration to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010: managers Charlie Grimm, Whitey Herzog, Davey Johnson, Tom Kelly, Billy Martin, Gene Mauch, Danny Murtaugh and Steve O’Neill; umpires Doug Harvey and Hank O’Day."

Murtaugh was, of course, our manager during the '60 and '71 championship years. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

O'Day also has an interesting Pittsburgh connection, in that he was the umpire during the 1903 World Series, the first of its kind, in which we were defeated by Boston.

Marvin Miller needs to finally get in.

I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

Agreed.

Otherwise, I’ve had enough of the veterans committee picking through the chaff. God bless Danny, but I really couldn’t possibly care less whether he’s in the Hall, or any other dead guy for that matter. I barely give a rat’s tail about the live ones.

I'm the opposite

Murtaugh had a positive effect on the game for the PBC. I am rooting for him.

Miller moved money from the owners pockets to the players pocket.s I’m fine with that, but it didn’t better the game in any way as far as I am concerned. Miller should be in the collective bargaining hall of fame.

Davey Johnson and Billy Martin should get in

Davey Johnson- 4 time All-star, 3 time world series championships, 3 gold gloves, 1973 comeback player, 1997 AL manager of the year, Won with Marge Schott as his owner who didn’t want to spend any money.

Billy Martin- one all-star selection, 5 world series titles, 1953 Babe Ruth award winner(similar to the world series MVP), number 1 retired by the yankees, great basball mind, allowed Rickey Henderson to run all over the AL in 1982, and almost made Brett George kill an ump in the pine tar game

"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature. The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."
