Ohlendorf Blogging: USDA can't keep him "down on the farm."
Via J. Langosch, Pirates' pitcher Ross Ohlendorf, who is interning with the USDA this off-season has posted his first blog entry about his experience.
... Instead of returning to Austin after the baseball season, I came to Washington, DC to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about both agriculture and the government while also making a difference.
Interestingly, the entry does not include any references to Congressional or Senate husbandry.
Perhaps he can get the Pirates some fat subsidies.

How you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm once they’ve seen Jeff Karstens?
I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

I get the impression that Ohlendorf is just a really cool dude in general.
A sub-four ERA and being a genius…not bad.
