On the DL

I think I might have swine flu. In any case, I've been as sick as I've been in about a decade. Give me a couple days to get back on track. My apologies for the lack of updates.

Oh dear.

While your defenses are down, any chance of you reconsidering Donnie Veal for the Pirates prospect list?

Only joking! Get well soon, Charlie.

As Elaine Benes would say...

Get well. Get well soon. We want you to get well. Get well! Get well soon! We want you to get well!!!

Just work on getting better, Charlie...

we aren’t going anywhere…and it’s not like there’s gonna be major news with the Pirates in the next week…at least until the GM meetings anyway.

I think Charlie's ripe for a DFA

We need the room on the 40 man and, frankly, I suspect he’ll clear waivers.

On a separate note, has the SB Nation template changed since this morning? I swear that the fonts look different (and I know that the Comment box has changed in the last week or two). No big deal; I’d just like confirmation that I’m not crazy (on this one, specific issue).

All SB Nation blogs got a site redesign.

There was a post about it on BloodyElbow.

Everything seems to be working OK for me.

Oh yeah, it works

Just looks (a little bit) different.

I notice that the default avatar is a star, which I prefer to the shouting fratboy.

The red star makes me feel like Andreas Baader though.

I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

No way Charlie clears waivers. He’s gritty, he hustles, he blogs “the right way”, and most importantly, his contract is very affordable.

SB Nation just drafted a 16-y.o. from the Dominican who projects to 1000 page views a day, and the signing bonus was a 1998 HP laptop.

by JRoth95 on Nov 3, 2009 6:22 PM EST up reply actions

Good work out.

That HP laptop from 1998 probably weighs about 50 lbs. So carrying it around will certainly give him the athletic ability to blog like crazy.

If Nutting wasn’t so cheap, Charlie could have gotten vaccinated.

by WTM on Nov 3, 2009 5:29 PM EST reply actions

Vaccinated?

or …what’s it called when your wings get clipped? Thats right…i’m on the bourbon again…trying to pass Charlie’s flu. I do what I can.

Take care of yourself

Nothing going on here is more important than your health

The glare of the spotlight is harsh, and the pressure that success breeds immense. We revere our heroes, but expect much. And criticism can come as easily as praise.

well

signing a single A left handed reliver gets close.

You picked a helluva time to get sick...

Piggyflu is no laughing matter…

Do everything your MD tells you, and you’ll be back on top in no time.

…oh, hell – who am I kidding? Have you named an heir?

Free your ass and your mind will follow.

Feel better

Here to no more pains, fevers, strains, and no more losing seasons!

by long4willie on Nov 3, 2009 10:00 PM EST reply actions

OK, which comes first: 82 wins or Charlie’s full recovery?

by JRoth95 on Nov 3, 2009 11:10 PM EST reply actions

Hope

you feel better soon. I had some wicked stuff a couple weeks ago but it went away. Yours will too.

Not the Swine!!!!!, say it aint so Charlie.

"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature. The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."
