Eric Kratz
oof!
looks like Cedeno has pulled his game up. I seem to remember abysmal numbers sometime back…
Cedeno
He has been hitting the cover off the ball with solo HRs, but only recently has he been taking any walks, which I think will be his key to sustained success in MLB.

He’s still got a .319 OBP despite a .292 BA

If he only could learn the skill of taking walks, he would get much better pitches to hit and he has shown he can clobber get-me-over fast balls. That could change everything for him.

Drawing walks would help, no question.
But if he puts up an OBP in the .320s this year, that’d be enough to at least get us through the season.
What is the MLE for a .320 VWL OBP, though? .290?

Calculating MLEs on winter ball stats...
…is almost pointless, due to the sample size concerned. You’re better off looking for scouting trends.
Yeah, I was kind of joking. The point is he hasn’t been taking walks and is seemingly just trying to hit every pitch thrown as hard as possible. It seems if he were down there trying to learn something he’d be working on that.
