it could be

if the article didn’t strongly indicate trade deal, I d have thought a FA. When I saw the article first a couple of days back, I thought of Duscherer (and silently prayed he’d join the Bucs).

Also, NH clearly doesnt like leaks, and if he’s managed to keep it quiet till the point the deal is “close”, thats cool!

Just for fun speculation, who might we want?

Yankees top ten prospects:

Long shot, no doubt, and I really don’t have a feel for what would be equitable as far as players are concerned.

I guess we’ll see if the Yankees are really serious about lowering payroll by the pitcher they acquire.

@Buster_ESPN to the Pirates about their SP: Maholm, Duke, Ohlendorf. Is this what the Yankees are working on now? Not sure yet. But they are working. about 4 hours ago

The Yankees’ sights were set higher.

There are deals with the Yankees that would've made sense for us...

…but I wouldn’t have taken that Braves package for Duke or Maholm.

Of course, I like Melky less than basically any other person alive…

But Cabrera has a cool nickname, ‘The Melkman’! That would have made it worthwhile…

Seriously though, I agree with you.
