Report From Bradenton - Day 1

Weather was perfect, 80 degrees with slight wind.

Brandon Moss, Nyjer Morgan, and Garrett Jones out to take batting practice.  Moss had a knee brace on the left knee, said knee was fine.  All 3 looked ok, nothing extraordinary to report.

About 18 pitchers threw.  Least impressive was Donnie Veal, who really struggled with command.  Pulled out of session early, it seemed.  Sues also was very inconsistent with secondary stuff, Kerrigan watching and was picking him up after bad pitches.  Virgil Vasquez looked like he couldn't break a pane of glass, but may have not been throwing full tilt.  I thought Meek looked good, as well as Hansen, Barthmeyer, and Ohlendorf, though way too early to tell anything.

Best I can remember, those who threw:  Snell, Sues, R. Sanchez, Meek, Hansen, Ulveldio (sp?), who looked decent, Bootcheck, the 2 guys from Cleveland (Haigwood has a very strange delivery, looks like he's throwing a palmball on every pitch), Barthmeyer, Ohly, Virgil, Chavez, Mateo, etc.  No Grabow, Maholm, Karstens, D. McCutchen, Gorzy, Duke.

Watched Diaz and Jarimillo take batting practice.  Diaz stroked everything well, Jarimillo a little less well though not bad. Didn't see Pedro A, though I did catch a glimse of some guys going into the cages (Nate, etc.).  No doubt missed Pedro, the LaRoches and anyone else on site.

Neil, and Kyle Starks were there, but didn't mingle.  Talked to John Perotto for a minute.  Not an extreme amount of people there, maybe 50.

Will update periodically...
