Byung-Hyun Kim Won't Play in WBC

Why? Because he lost his passport. That's it. No other reason.

I'm sorry we never got to see Kim pitch for the Pirates, not only because I loved his delivery, but also because he too is an extremely entertaining player, in about the way it's entertaining to sit in a meeting and watch a sleeping co-worker pitch forward after having his chin slip off the hand that supports it.

There's a player...

…whose name, unfortunately, I can not recall, who was once denied entry to the US for several months because he left his travel documents in his pants while doing laundry, and they disintegrated in the wash. It was a year or two ago, and he played for the Tigers that season, but for the life of me I can’t think of the name (sorry).
