Andy Van Slyke did a Q and A with Baseball Prospectus if anyone wants to check it out.  Pretty interesting stuff.  At the end he is asked about the state of the game and IMO sort of shoehorns his political views into the interview. Obviously everyone is entitled to express their own opinion and views, especially someone who is being sought out and interviewed.  To me it just seemed like a reach as far as connection to the actual question.  I'll admit, I'm not that familiar with his personality as he pre-dates my following the Pirates.
