Doumit to have MRI on Wrist
It would be a big problem if Doumit had to miss a substantial amount of time, obviously.

The thing that concerns me about hitter wrist/hand injuries is not so much that they might miss time (although that is a concern), but the possibility of it lingering and affecting the player’s hitting for a long period of time. A lot of seemingly inexplicable bad seasons by normally good hitters are traceable to nagging hand and wrist injuries.
i don't want to say it out loud but...
pat meares also comes to mind, not that he ever hit as well as doumit.
Derrek Lee, too. There are a bunch of them.

Doumit the next Chipper?
Man, Doumit can’t ever stay healthy. Obviously, we don’t know the results of his MRI and it may not be that bad. But still, this guy is already becoming the next Chipper Jones in terms of being hurt all the time. Two weeks into the season and he’s already nicked up? That’s not good, especially for this lineup that is already hurting to score runs early in the season. In the first twelve games, we have been shutout once and scored one run twice. We may see Craig Monroe playing more than he has, although I still think Moss is going to be a good player. Let’s hope this wrist injury isn’t that serious. Our season is over if Doumit has to miss significant time.
If Doumit has Larry Jones's career...
…I’d be fine with that, injuries and all. Jones is a slam-dunk Hall of Famer.
Even if the injury to Ryan isn't serious...
we’re pretty much without a backup catcher for a few days. We’ll find out one of two things in the next couple of days…
1) who is the emergency catcher, or
2) who is considered the 12th pitcher…because he might be leaving.
I think it was reported that Delwyn Young has been an emergency catcher before. Usefulness!
