calm down the brewers had a gameplan to make maholm throw a ton of pitches because they want to exploit the bullpen again.

by piratesfanatic on Apr 28, 2009 10:05 PM EDT reply actions

If so, that’s a very good gameplan

by thegreatchris on Apr 28, 2009 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions

I hope you are correct sir

Carolina ties it at 3 with less than a minute left.

by shayborg on Apr 28, 2009 10:08 PM EDT reply actions

I know...

our bullpen is a huge ? but is leaving Maholm in a good decision. I don’t think it is…hope I’m wrong!

by Slick1 on Apr 28, 2009 10:08 PM EDT reply actions

I think Bill Hall just answered your question.

by Charlie Wilmoth on Apr 28, 2009 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m not sure he would’ve thrown Hart out, though.

by Charlie Wilmoth on Apr 28, 2009 10:22 PM EDT up reply actions

i dont personally like the decision but JR must have his reasons

by piratesfanatic on Apr 28, 2009 10:09 PM EDT reply actions

by .500 Please on Apr 28, 2009 10:09 PM EDT reply actions

I’m calling it continued, he got hit, just not “a” hit.

I’m looking to talk up the Buccos where I can.

get him out!! geez JR, you see he doesn’t have his best stuff. He’s getting rocked!

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 10:17 PM EDT reply actions

The bullpen desperately needed a QS to give them the night off. I guess Russell tried to squeeze one out of Maholm despite the poor pitches

by thegreatchris on Apr 28, 2009 10:19 PM EDT up reply actions

jesse chavez has the stuff but has been incosistent

I have the fortitude to watch the rest of this… I’ll stick around until they score in this inning and then i’m probably going to leave

There's no crying in baseball...

by phillybucco on Apr 28, 2009 10:42 PM EDT reply actions

Buccos could really use a turnover right here. Would completely change the momentum.

by CptnAwesome on Apr 28, 2009 10:45 PM EDT reply actions

I mean we are just giving them free baserunners! Good teams don’t issue six walks in seven innings! When you do that, you don’t deserve to win and you are lucky if you do win! Kerrigan needs to grab these guys by the throat and say “Throw the ball over the plate!!”

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 10:45 PM EDT reply actions

by .500 Please on Apr 28, 2009 10:47 PM EDT reply actions

well we aren’t going to win tomorrow. Sorry, but Snell is way too inconsistent to expect him to hold this lineup down tomorrow. If we’re gonna win a game in this series, it has to be tonight.

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 10:47 PM EDT reply actions

I agree. Also, Gallardo is really good.

by thegreatchris on Apr 28, 2009 10:48 PM EDT up reply actions

by .500 Please on Apr 28, 2009 10:49 PM EDT reply actions

I wouldn’t be surprised at all. He may give up more than that. You know he’s going to give up one for sure. He always does.

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 10:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Well

they didn’t score so I’ll stick around I guess. Heck, the Phils came back to beat the Nats last night

We’re still in this game, and we’ll win tomorrow. When Snell is on he’s lights out, have faith, we have the pieces, we just need to get our injured guys back and pick up another arm for the pen

by OpiateOfTheMasses on Apr 28, 2009 10:50 PM EDT reply actions

ummm…no. Snell will get lit up tomorrow. Mark my words.

Actually

You can get it occasionally in Philly, but it’s usually either a special order or pops up in boutique 6-pack shops…. in PA, we can’t buy 6-packs, and we essentially have to buy by the case from distributors, or pay through the nose at a bar or boutique shop

I’m hooked for life. I was 11 in 1992, so I’ve seen the intervening years. I know not to get too excited.

This can definitely happen, though Vasquez wouldn’t have been my pinch hitter of choice

Seriously! You made the trade for Delwyn for a reason. Use him.

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 11:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Just wanted to give Ramon a little motivation, right?

Good news: We got the top of the lineup coming up

Bad news: Moss is due up 4th. Rally killer.

Nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

by ytownbucsfan on Apr 28, 2009 11:18 PM EDT reply actions

Thanks for getting that bunt down Nyjer! Vazquez would be at third right now! When you play bad fundamental baseball, you lose. Period.

by thelumberco. on Apr 28, 2009 11:20 PM EDT reply actions

I think Monroe would have laid it down.
