OPENING DAY 2009

Aahhh Opening Day.. The best day of the year. The sun is bright, the grass is trimmed. I predict that this year Paul Maholm is will win the Cy young, Freddy Sanchez the batting title, Nate McLouth will improve on his 2008 season, and Matt Capps will even win the Rolaids Relief Man Award. Were going to not only go .500, but we are going to win the division, the pennant, and then the World Series of course. We are going to average about 30,000 fans per game and nobody is going to care what the promotions are. The Pierogi Race will finally take a backseat to the product on the field. Andrew Cutch is going to come up, pull a Longoria and win the Rookie of the Year. Romulo Sanchez will win the Bobblehead fan vote (to make the dreams of BD come true). Pedro Alvarez will breeze through A and AA, ending his season with Indianapolis and primed for his 2010 debut. Kevin McClatchy will finally come out of the closet (yes, I know for a fact he is homosexual). Derek Bell will pay the Pirates back his entire contract. Of course this is all so far fetched I should be locked up and thrown in Mayview, but it's Opening Day everyone. No matter what happens it's gonna be a fun season. WE WILL.

Boxing?

I’m not a fan, nor am I much of one of MMA, but isn’t MMA shoveling dirt on boxing’s coffin right now? Boxing might as well be horse racing (which I like a lot). Worse, really. Horse racing still has the KY Derby, Triple Crown, and Breeder’s Cup. Boxing has…

Good luck though. You must have a passion, which is pretty much necessary for blogging.

And not that I’m the BD police or anything, but I think the proper thing to do would have been making your own Fanpost or Fanshot instead of taking one off-topic in the very first post. Especially one called OPENING DAY ! Sheesh, have you no shame, Omar?

i thought this would be a little more under the radar. i dnt want to invade charlie’s space.

and boxing isnt done yet. its so much better than mma. and hatton-pacquiao is going to be a GREAT fight.

It’s 35 w/out wind chill and sleeting here in St. Louis and supposed to stay like this for most of the day, I doubt the game will get played.

I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

It better not

I need some baseball. It’s been too long

Cardinals say

they really wanna get this game in because it would mess up their pitching if they don’t. They play 21 games in 21 days to start the year.

From the looks of it, come game time there will be a 30% chance of snow flurries. Not ideal weather, but it’s playable. I remember playing some high school games in that kind of stuff, it sucks.

Hopefully the buccos can win the opener

So we can be in first place at least once this season. :)

We're tied now!

So even if we lose, we still got that going for us

Dejan just said

that he’s been told there is less than a one percent chance that the game gets postponed today in his chat.

It'll be miserable

I just walked back from class here and it’s unpleasant. In addition the wind is blowing strangely as it seems to have changed directions twice as I walked back.

I’m just glad I bought tickets for a game later in the series as opposed to this one.

Just glad

The pirates home opener is next week not this week. Maybe the weather will be better and nicer. Considering this week is bad weather for us.

Oh My

Kevin McClatchy will finally come out of the closet (yes, I know for a fact he is homosexual).

For a “fact”? Does that mean in a biblical sense? I just didn’t see that comming. I mean Omar Moreno has always been kinda…you know.. a testimate to testarone.

Had Omar been on the ’roids and straight, dare I say Hall of Fame?

Now the news that KC was light in his loffers…that explains the Lee Mazilli bobblehead. No wonder the Bucs always finished on the bottom…..insert timely quip.

but yes a waitress that works at the restaurant i work at, (Harry’s Pizza) has a gay friend who claims to have had intimate relations with Kevin McClatchy two seperate times.

I don't really care whether he is or isn't.

But if he is, it’d be nice if he felt comfortable enough about himself to come out of the closet. Living in fear/shame is a terrible thing.

Whoa

I wouldn’t presume all in-the-closet gays are so because of fear/shame.
