Adios, Romulo! We hardly knew ye.
I just read on MLB Trade rumors that the Chief has been traded to the Yankees for Eric Hacker, a 26 year old RHP with an injury history including TJ in 2004 and shoulder work in 2006. He's been a starter for AAA S/WB but has struggled mightily this year with a 7.88 ERA. In a strange move for the front office, Hacker is a groundball pitcher and not a fireballer with control problems.
But the most important point: I guess this means any chance of a Romulo bobblehead night is moot.

I guess you missed the other two posts on this?
I’m a bit puzzled that we’re trading relievers for starters given our situation, but I’m interested to see what Hacker can do. He’s got a great baseball name.
No
There wasn’t any when I went to post this, unfortunately I only pressed preview and by the time I realized my mistake, jsn4219 posted had already posted one. Charlie followed up a bit later with his own.
You can always make a minor league starter into a ML reliever.
So it doesn’t really cost us anything in terms of flexibility.
Yes, this is true.
But it’s unusual for a guy to move from the rotation to the pen and get worse. The only cases that come to my mind are guys with a big difference in their performance from the windup vs. their performance from the stretch, in so far as relievers often come into the game with men already on base.
