Let's break the losing streak tonight.
I’m anticipating a few HRs, including one from Brandon Moss.
Gotta stay at least a little positive. Let’s get back to .500 for at least another day.
this is stupid
there’s no reason we keep losing to the Brewers. And it is Suppan vs. Snell tonight, Suppan hasn’t been all that great vs. us while Snell has been pretty good (considering the streak especially) against the Brewers.
One more thing, don’t teams have to turn in some sort of active list or something before a game? I’m pretty suspicious about this whole Braun business.

I'm with you dude
I declare SHANANAGUNS ! Shananaguns on Ryan Braun ! I bet he didn’t even have an MRI yesterday !

It was hard to tell from the replay, but he got up after throwing out Counsell clutching his shoulder. The trainers came out, but he stayed in the game.
augh.
and Lameday won’t show replays any more. &^$#@!

I posted this on the
“Capps” thread, but – who becomes the de facto closer…provided we even get into that situation?

or should that be
closer “pro tem?”

gotta be grabow
the only one with a good track record among them, even though he is struggling right now

I think
they may throw Chavez out there if it come up.

jeebus...
Suppan’s FB is only 86, and his “change” is 79.

I'm thinking maybe...
he had to talk to the NY press today…and his mind isn’t on his job.
Let's hope
Mario got his groundout to 2B out of the way there…

i say keep laying in breaking pitches
his slider looks alright so far, everything they’ve hit has been a fastball

Isn't there a rule?
That all ex PBC hurlers automatically get quality starts against the Pirates?
Isn’t it called the Arroyo Rule? I remember it from last year when I just about burst a blood vessel when Josh Fogg put up 4 or so shut out innings against the PBC.
For some reason,
I’ve always liked Counsell. Steady journeyman ballplayer.

agreed. he would’ve been nice to have @ 3rd when Freddy moved to 2B. Also could’ve backed up Jack

Augh.
I don’t even hafta see it live to know what happened. Mario looked at 2 strikes, then took that long, loping swing on a ball a foot outside.
Could the month of May be Mario’s April?

Leadoff walks...
and both those runs came with 2 outs – WTF?

is when Suppan settles in to finish his one run CG…wtf, ITS THE BREWERS

need to plate moss
but I don’t have confidence in the bottom of this line-up. brutal.
The PBC has to be the worst in the ML
at scoring runners from 2B on a single.
Swing Away, Ian. Swing Away!
Bonehead JR decision
DIdn’t let Ian swing away (or go for the suicide squeeze). Relying on Morgan to drive home the tying run is not a winning move.
Well, I thought about that, but 9 out of 10 times, Snell’s going to ground into a DP. I hate when a pitcher comes up to bat with runners on the corners and one one because most of the time, they are going to bunt when I would rather see them hit. But at the same time, you don’t want to ground into a DP.
so it begins
but…where did the second pitch miss?
Jason

Nyjer Morgan's average
is slip slidin’ away. Give him a few more weeks and it’ll be pretty bad.
I didn’t like the moves by Russell last inning, either.
I get to see Mike Scioscia a lot and I love the way he puts pressure on the opposing squad by taking the extra base, employing the squeeze bunt, hit and run. I haven’t seen the PBC do these kind of things all year.
Scioscia’s theory is that you have to force teams to play good defense and a lot of them just can’t do it under pressure. It’s about manufacturing runs.
i love how he batted macier izturis third…genius

Snell's FB
has been between 85-87 the last couple of innings (at least according to CBS game center). If true, that’s a bad sign
for what it's worth
Gameday consistently shows 2 MPH faster than what I’m seeing on TV (which is the same as your values, have only seen one or two 90-91 all game)
Jason
The Hanging Curve
game center has snell and suppan at the same mph on their fastball

Jason Bay
Hit his 6th HR of the year tonight, a three-run job.
I sure hope the Red Sox fans are enjoying JBay. I simply can’t wish him ill. May he reap the benefits of his talent.
didn't the O-Dorf
own him too?
Jason

its not...
that they don’t get it. they do. snell and karstens (and some of the bullpen) just have poor control

Grabow, Chavez and Burnett (against lefties) are the only guys that can be counted on, with Yates, Veal and Hansen struggling in limited work. And it’s only a matter of time before Chavez has a melt down. Capps has been off the last few weeks. His 4 walks are 1 less than he had all last season.
Thank you.
Try
not to throw your arm out patting yourself on the back. Heh.

Monroe looked terrible in that AB, watching the strikes down the middle and swinging at the pitches out of the zone…
clearly
he’s just out of rhythm from not starting regularly

The thing I definitely want in my life is more Tyler Yates.

Evan Meek
Walks his first two batters on 10 total pitches. A sacrifice moves them to 2nd and 3rd with one out.
GAG.
So with Meek throwing so many pitches this inning, that leaves Veal for the ninth against Braun & co. Uh…
I was just going to remark that we haven’t seen Veal in a long time. I want to see more of him and see if he’s made any improvements.
I’m not hopeful.

It’s beyond me how this guy has a big league roster spot.
Is the state of our franchise really this bad?
I was just thinking about this. Do the Pirates really have any better options?

I'm not surprised
he hit Fielder, I’m surprised anyone can miss him. Guy’s the size of a small country. Andorra.
Or not!
Good for Veal. He may not be a big league pitcher, but I feel happy to see him come in after that much time in the pen and throw a scoreless inning.
Just got back from the game. My girlfriend was freezing in the cold and rain, and the game was awful. Took off in the 7th. I see it got a little better.
Hey! Hey! Let's keep it clean, OK?
What you do in your bathroom is YOUR business, but this is a family friendly site.
A bad game.
Let’s get away from the Brewers and look for wins elsewhere.
