Friday's game

I'm not in the Pittsburgh area anymore, so I don't get a feel for the talk and what's going on in the local media and what not. But I am coming in town this weekend and am planning on going to the game Friday. My question is...Is there any talk there about moving the time of the game Friday night?

I ask this because Game 7 of the Stanley Cup is Friday night as well and not only are the Penguins in it...but so are the Red Wings (we play the Tigers). I would imagine that if the game is played at 7 PM, there will be about 500 people in the stands and about 4 or 5 people watching the game combined from both markets.

On the other side, I would find it a pretty bad marketing strategy to move a Friday night game when that is most likely the prime opportunity to attract fans, but in this circumstance, it might be wise to move the game to the afternoon.

I really want to go to all 3 games this weekend while I'm in town, but I'm not going to lie, I'd rather skip a Pirates/Tigers game in order to go to Carson Street and watch the Pens win Game 7...

I haven't heard anything about moving it.

Doubt it’ll happen at this late juncture.

there hasn’t been much talk about the game friday as of yet. I don’t think anyone even realizes the pirates play that night because of the magnitude of game 7.

good thing Pittsburgh doesn’t have an NBA team. they would probably win the title as well and really make the Pirates look bad.

I wish they’d move the time up, but I really doubt they’d do it. I have tickets to that game, a bit up behind the plate I believe, but fuck if I’m going to miss seeing game 7 for the freaking Pirates.

recommendations for Pens game site near PNC?

also coming from out of town for the weekend series. we have tix Friday nite, looks like we can watch the first 4-5 innings. then where is closest bar (with more than a 12" set) to PNC to get to 2nd period of Game 7?

I wonder if they have any chance at landing an outdoor game at PNC.

Right across the street

The Soho in the Springhill Suites across the street from PNC has multiple big screens.

Spoke to a Bucs ticket rep today. No plans from baseball ops to change… We’re there for all 3 games – from East Lansing..
